“I would like to tell you how much I and my family have been enjoying the bounty from Salute! this summer. Everything has been wonderful and I'm so glad you were able to fit us in this year… About a year ago I began to look into CSA because I was looking for a way to add some locally grown organic produce to my family's diet. I was busy and didn't really pursue it then even though I kept thinking that I wanted to. This past May I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a wake up call, and one of the first things I did was to make some dramatic changes in my family's diet and lifestyle, including contacting you and adding many more organic foods to our diet.”

“Thank you so much for this wonderful gift! As I've said before, it is great to have someone make such an effort towards my health and wellness. I have discovered a farm full of angels!”

“I am thrilled that the concept of CSA has moved into the midwest, and feel so fortunate for it to land in my hometown. Thanks Salute!!!!!!!!”

“Thank you to all who make this possible!”

February 29, 2008
Dear friends,

Thank you again for your loyal support of our efforts to bring you the highest quality, locally grown organic produce. Salute! Farm & Vineyard has successfully completed its third season in business with good growth over 2006. We also experienced the wonders of our first grape harvest and the grape juice is safely ensconced in vats at the Fox Valley winery on its way to becoming wine.

Despite the excessive rain in August, our CSA, the Woodstock Farmers’ Market, growing for restaurants, and Dinners On The Farm were all very successful, so we are ready to improve and expand for 2008. We have learned many things this year about what grows well on our land, what people want to buy and eat, and how to handle various organic farming challenges. As a result, we will continue to improve the quality and selection of our vegetables for next year.

We will be expanding our CSA subscription capacity from 55 to 75 with the same two pick up sites on the farm and in downtown Woodstock. We will also continue at the Woodstock Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings and growing for local restaurants.

Some new things that worked well this summer were:
  • An herb garden for CSA customers to harvest what they need, as they need it.
  • Fruit bushes that will produce in 2008
  • Growing for local restaurants
  • Longer growing season of arugula and lettuces
  • AND our first grape harvest!
Some new things for next year are:
  • More consistent delivery of popular items, such as lettuces, beets, arugula, and carrots
What We Are GrowingHarvest Calendar

We are pleased to announce our

2008 CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)

CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) offer a way to reconnect people to the land and to their food. Instead of food from a large corporation, thousands of miles away (“jet lagged vegetables”) you can eat locally grown food and know your farmer!

We specialize in gourmet varieties that will allow you to sample new and exciting flavors, grown without chemical pesticides or fertilizers, harvested, washed and packed by hand.

So, please join us for our 2008 CSA Subscription.

As a member of our CSA, you will receive high quality, locally grown, freshly harvested vegetables at your table every week. Not only is this the healthiest, most delicious and environmentally friendly way to eat, but you are also supporting your local farmers, enabling us to continue to bring to you these gifts of the earth.
