Farm & Vineyard of Woodstock, IL is pleased to announce that our 2009 “Primo Rosso Reserve” wine has won a Bronze medal at the Illinois State fair and another Bronze medal at the Indiana International wine competition. “Primo Rosso” is Italian for “first red.” The wine is a dry, blended red wine with overtones of black currant and cherry and has a long finish. It is made from Frontenac, Foch, Corot Noir, Norton and Noiret grapes, which are the varieties that can be grown in our cold Illinois climate. It is made from the grapes grown on our vineyard in Woodstock, grapes grown with no chemical pesticides or fertilizers. You can purchase the wine at the Woodstock Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings through the summer and any time at La Petite Creperie, 115 N. Johnson St, or at the Green Box Boutique, 108 N Benton, both on the Woodstock Square Come and try our locally grown and locally made wine. It is delicious!
